Miss USA visits Camp Lejeune and Fort Bragg

The USO of North Carolina was honored to welcome home Chelsea for a troop visit March 13-15, 2006. Chelsea got to visit Camp Lejeune and Fort Bragg, participate in troop training, shake hands, dine with service members, pose for pictures and culminate her visit by making a tandem jump with the famed U.S. Army Golden Knights. Chelsea Cooley, MISS USA, is a 22-year-old fashion marketing student from Charlotte, N.C., she was crowned April 11, 2005 in Baltimore, Md. A junior at the Art Institute of Charlotte, Cooley was the first woman from North Carolina to capture the title of MISS USA. During her year-long reign, she has been a USO celebrity at numerous events and bases to include Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. She has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about breast and ovarian cancer and the research, education and legislation needed to find a cure.
