- The Jacksonville Center was established April 23, 1942 and is the oldest USO in America.
- The Jacksonville Center has been in constant operation since it has opened.
- The USO of North Carolina is sole supporting: neither USO Headquarters in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Government, nor the Department of Defense, provide any funding.
- The Jacksonville Center is open 73.5 hours a week, 52 weeks a year. In sixty three years, it has opened its doors nearly everyday.
- The USO Jacksonville Center operates with 7 paid staff members: 1 president, 1 assistant, 1 special events coordinator and 4 staff, supplemented by a wonderful pool of volunteers.
- The Jacksonville Center has a large auditorium, a snack bar, a library, a cyber café with 10 Internet linked computers, and 3 meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 40 people.
- The Jacksonville Center also offers four regulation-sized pool tables, two ping-pong tables, numerous video games, including X-Box and Playstation2, two TV/VCR combinations to complement our 1,000 plus VCR tape library, and a kids' playroom.
- Our Jacksonville Center serves a holiday feast on both Thanksgiving and Christmas to over 5,000 military members and their families each year.
- The Jacksonville Center provides services to 1,500+ military and civilian personnel on a monthly basis.
- The RDU Center opened in August, 2004
- The RDU Center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- The RDU center operates with 2 paid staff members: 1 manager, 1 part-time assistant manager, and a hard-working pool of volunteers.
- The RDU center consists of one large "living room" with comfortable leather recliners, a large-screen tv with Satellite tv and DVDs, a separate gaming area with Playstation2 and X-Box, a cyber-corner with two internet-connected computers as well as free wi-fi hotspot, a kitchen area stocked with fresh fruit, home-baked goods, and assorted "junk food," and two changing rooms and ironing boards to meet the needs of travelling servicemen and women.
