RDU Center Volunteer Opportunities
Center Volunteers
USO of NC RDU center volunteers answer phones, greet guests, check military ID's, prepare sandwiches and refreshments, assist guests with airport information, flight information, ground transportation, as well as help guests with a myriad of travel dilemmas. All volunteers are also responsible for keeping the center clean and organized and restocking supplies. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least 2, 4-hour shifts per month.  Some walking between terminals for pick up and deliveries may be required. The RDU Center is located outside security in Terminal 2 of the Raleigh Durham Airport. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, able to undergo volunteer training, and complete a background check in order to volunteer at the center. The USO of NC RDU center is open 24 hour a day, 7 days a week.

At this time the volunteer application process for RDU center volunteers is closed. Please fill out the application below if you would like to have your name placed on our waitlist. Those wishing to volunteer for our overnight position (11pm-7am) will bypass the waitlist and their applications will be immediately sent to our Volunteer Coordinator.

Ambassador Program  The Ambassador Program was established to assist traveling military in finding the USO of NC in the airport.  The volunteer will commit to work 2 two-hour shifts per month.  The ambassador will carry snacks and drinks for military unable to visit the center and will escort or provide directions for guests with more time.

Goldsboro Area Volunteers:  The USO of NC RDU Center provides support for events at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.  If you live in the Goldsboro area or don't mind commuting to the area for special events, please let us know.

TriAd Area Volunteers:  We also provide support for events in Greensboro, High Point, Winston Salem and Burlington.  Please let us know if you're interested in volunteering in this area.

Special Events/Fundraising Volunteers
The USO of NC RDU center is looking for those with special skills in fundraising, marketing, event planning, and other similar skills to assist on fundraising/ special events committees. Volunteers in this capacity would work with the center staff and current center volunteers in the planning and development, soliciting of sponsorships and donations, marketing and executing of events to support the USO of NC RDU center.
